The illustrations on this page have been made using only Caran d'Ache pencils. The technique used is that of layering with parallel lines, which allows a uniform and regular spread of color through a very dense number of small parallel lines. Caran d'Ache pencils, due to the hardness of their graphite, lend themselves very well to the use of this technique, allowing to obtain a tip that is always very thin.
